"This grocery store was conveniently located across from the free parking at City Hall, where you can ride the free trolley. After our day in Gatlinburg we got back to our car and went to Food City to grab a few snacks and drinks to take back to our cabin for our short honeymoon stay in the area. I thought it was a little bit pricey for n my opinion. It was very busy. The cashier was as efficient and kind. They do have self checkout as well. Not many options for grocery stores in the area without driving through the craziness of town so it not that this one is where it is, you don’t have to go into the insanity of tourist town. They have a large parking lot with free parking. The gas station is next door. Town hall across the road. And a trolley stop right in front of the grocery store. Convenient location. The trolley station is just down the road as well so trolleys are always coming and going to the stop out front."
"Clean people are courteous and boy do they have everything you need. Do you even have a Starbucks on the inside"
"Wow. I always tell everyone about this little store and how we used to have one in our state. We come to Tennessee several times a year and shop food city except this past year because I've had so much chemo and several surgeries for cancer. This is the first time I've got to come in a year and our condo was just down the street. Several times I've asked for a card and they say "we put on on there for you." I asked again the next day "we put one on there for you." I finally said, "I appreciate that, but I would like one of my own." She told me I would have to go to customer service. No problem. I went to customer service desk. She (apparently a manager) told us the cashier would be right with us. No problem. Then she asked what we wanted. My fiancé told her we wanted a card. She asked if we are guests. (None of your business but okay) He said yes, technically we are but we are here and several other cities around with Food Cities often. She said we didn't need a card, we could put one on there. He said we come here all the time. Yeah, we can put it on there. I am not one who loses my patience often but I was close. I calmly said louder "GIIIIVE ME A CARD!" She reached right in front of her, less than 6" in front of her and pulled out a card and handed it to him. This aggravated me more. As I said in the store, what in the hell is the deal with these cards? You act like I'm asking for free food or something. I've spent over $200 in your store in the last 2 days. I came to jokingly write a review and I see there is nothing but reviews about the severe problem with customer service going back years and the "standard apology". So disappointed. Do better!"
