Cataract Falls

"Easy to find. Easy hike. Suitable for families and strollers but it might get muddy. This is a smaller waterfall but it's lovely. I enjoyed my time here. The only negative is the loud people who are also on the trail. It would be nice if people moved quietly to avoid scaring the wildlife away."

"We had a great time hiking up here with our two kids (2 and 1). It was funny everyone told us we were about half way there no matter if we were a quarter or three quarters of the way there as we ascended. But the waterfall was gorgeous and generally enjoying God's creation on a hike is great. Be aware we did see a bear in the parking lot when we returned. Just kept our wits about us and moved to the car but just encourage you to stay alert."

"Its one of the most well traveled paths, close to the visitor center.10 min walk. Easy for strollers, walkers, wheelchairs etc. So the was packed with people, but over all I am impressed that SMNP made this accessible for all to experience. Expect people on this path. Expect lots of friendly hellos, and kids running in the creek. Expect noise- chatter- laughter etc. If you want quiet nature experience maybe find a harder path. 😉 laurel falls was close on the trip I was there so that likely increased traffic as well."
